This home was designed for a builder of custom guitars. The floor plan surrounds a south-facing courtyard on three sides. The owner’s attached studio has a separate entrance to the courtyard. 

 

Central to the design of this home is a two-story greenhouse that can vent out hot summer air, and allow air warmed by the winter sun to be circulated within the home. The tub in the second floor master bath opens directly to the greenhouse. A second floor covered deck off the master bedroom catches afternoon breezes.
